The Rebuilding Project
Rebuilding Our Mosque
A new, safe, two-storey home of worship and learning for our community.
Background: proposed design visual (aerial view).
Why the Mosque Must Be Rebuilt
A structural assessment found that the existing mosque is no longer safe to continue serving the community in its current condition:
- Severe rusting of the reinforcing steel has weakened the structure.
- Engineers warned about possible failure during a major earthquake or ground movement.
Rebuilding is therefore a matter of safety as well as an opportunity to serve the community better. Full details are in the project information document below.
